§ Mr. BETTERTONThe King's Roll relates to the employment of disabled ex-service men. The numbers of enrolled firms in November, 1925, 1926 and 1927, were approximately 28,000, 27,500 and 27,500, respectively. The number of disabled ex-service men employed by enrolled firms at the same dates were approximately 365,000, 375,000 and 380,000, respectively. The number of enrolled firms has remained approximately the same for some time, but there is a considerable turnover in the personnel of enrolled firms, and the tendency has been for the places of small firms who find it necessary to go off the Roll to be taken by larger firms. This factor, together with the increased staffs of some enrolled firms, is reflected in the increased number of disabled ex-service men employed during the last two years.
