HC Deb 07 December 1927 vol 211 c1397W
Mr. G. JONES

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that claims addressed to the Irish Grants Committee as far back as January last have not yet been dealt with; and whether, in view of the hardship thereby caused to claimants, he proposes to take any steps to expedite the proceedings of the Committee?

Mr. SAMUEL

I have been asked to take this question. The reply to the first part of my hon. Friend's question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, my hon. Friend will appreciate that each individual case which comes before the Irish Grants Committee requires and receives most careful and detailed examination, but I have every reason to know that the Committee fully realise the need for expedition.
