HC Deb 06 December 1927 vol 211 cc1196-7W
Mr. RILEY

asked the Minister of Labour the number of persons on the live register of the Dewsbury Employment Exchange; the number receiving standard benefit; and the number receiving extended benefit for the last week in September and October, respectively?

Mr. BETTERTON

The number of persons on the live register of the Dewsbury Employment Exchange at 31st October, 1927, was 2,407 as compared with 2,238 at 26th September, 1927. I am unable to state how many were in receipt of unemployment benefit at these dates, but the number of persons with claims current were 2,041 at 31st October and 1,971 at 26th September. I regret that I cannot give separate figures for standard and extended benefit.
