HC Deb 17 November 1926 vol 199 cc1855-6W
Mr. TAYLOR

asked the Minister of Labour why unemployment benefit was refused to Mrs. S. A. Tebb, of Lincoln, and upon what grounds it has been decided that she is not eligible for the return of contributions paid by her?

Mr. BETTERTON

Mrs. Tebb's claim for benefit was disallowed on 18th January, 1926, and again on 10th May, 1926, on the statutory ground that she had left her employment voluntarily without just cause. No appeal was made against these decisions. On a subsequent occasion she claimed and was allowed benefit. The contributions paid in respect of Mrs. Tebb are valid and cannot be refunded. She appears to be entitled to exemption, however, but I understand that she does not now desire to claim exemption.
