HC Deb 11 November 1926 vol 199 cc1295-6W
Colonel DAY

asked the Minister of Health the total amount of meat purchased by the Metropolitan Asylums Board during the 12 months ended to the last convenient date; and what proportion of this total was home produce?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

To obtain precise figures of actual purchases would entail considerable labour in the examination of the books of the 36 institutions under the management of the Board, but the estimated purchases for the year ended 30th June, 1926, were as follows:

Stones.
Foreign meat 118,999
Colonial meat 45,664
English meat 7,916
172,572
