HC Deb 09 November 1926 vol 199 cc914-6W
Sir F. SYKES

asked the Prime Minister whether he will arrange that in all cases in which it is proposed to employ non-British labour, material, or capital in meeting the requirements of the purchasing Departments, opportunity shall be given to the Minister of Labour and the President of the Board of Trade to recommend alternative all-British sources of supply, in which any extra expenditure involved would be justified in the national interest?

The PRIME MINISTER

The existing machinery provides for inquiry of all Departments whose special knowledge may be of advantage in discovering British sources of supply.
