asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is the practice to pay the salaries of Inspectors of Taxes by the method of payment by results; if so, on what basis these payments are made; and whether there is a definitely fixed minimum salary for such work?

No, Sir, certainly not. If the hon. Member will consult the Estimates published annually for the Revenue Departments he will find the salaries which are paid.
