HC Deb 04 March 1926 vol 192 c1635W
Mr. HARLAND

asked the Secretary of State for War the duties of the civilian pharmacists employed at the War Office; and if the advice of these pharmacists is sought with regard to the economical preparations of drugs and medicaments at military hospitals in lieu of purchases from civilian contractors, the examination of Army dispensers, and pharmaceutical personnel?

Captain KING

As regards the first part of the question, the duties of the civilian pharmacists employed at the War Office are technical advice on pharmaceutical questions, the examination of demands for medical supplies and equipment and the inspection thereof, the audit of contractors' claims and the preparation of schedules of medical equipment. As regards the second part of the question, the answer is in the affirmative except that their advice is not sought in matters affecting the examinations of Army dispensers.
