HC Deb 23 February 1926 vol 192 c326W
Mr. BROMLEY

asked the Minister of Transport what number of cases occurred of engine drivers and firemen being on duty in excess of nine hours during the three months ending 31st January,1926, on the London and North Eastern Railway, the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, the Great Western Railway, the Southern Railway, the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railways, and the Somerset and Dorset Railway; and how such cases of excessive hours of duty compare with the number of similar cases for the corresponding three months ending 31st January, 1925?

Colonel ASHLEY

I am not in possession of the information desired. As the hon. Member is aware, I am always ready to investigate any specific complaints of excessive hours that may be made to me, but very few such complaints have recently been made.
