asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that a considerable number of the travelling public from Brentwood, Essex, are suffering inconvenience and discomfort owing to the inadequacy of present traffic facilities; and the date it is proposed to call the conference on travelling facilities for the eastern districts of London, including Brentwood?

I have referred the question of the travelling facilities between Central London and certain areas lying to the east of London, includ- ing Brentwood, to the London Traffic Advisory Committee, who propose to hold a public inquiry in connection with the matter at the Guildhall, Westminster, commencing on 15th March next.
