HC Deb 15 February 1926 vol 191 cc1557-8W

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department as representing the First Commissioner of Works whether, with regard to the proposal to move the offices of the chief inspector of taxes (claims branch) and departmental claims from Cecil Chambers, Strand, to Cornwall House, Stamford Street, S.E., and in view of the dissatisfaction to which this change must give rise both among taxpayers and members of the staff employed in both these branches, he will reconsider the matter?

The proposal to move the staffs in question from Cecil Chambers to Cornwall House has been carefully considered in all its aspects, and the First Commissioner is satisfied that it should not give rise to any dissatisfaction either to the taxpayers or to the staff.
