HC Deb 15 February 1926 vol 191 cc1562-3W
Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Minister of Health whether he has received a copy of Memorandum 273 I.C., Post-Confinement Certification, dated December, 1925, issued by the Scottish Board of Health to all insurance practitioners in Scotland; and, if so, whether he will indicate why the Insurance Department does not propose to issue a similar memorandum to all insurance practitioners in England and Wales, particularly in view of the importance of the subject and the desire for uniformity in connection with the effect on approved societies of the subject of that memorandum?

Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. As regards the second part, there is no evidence that insurance practitioners in England and Wales are under the misapprehensions which the memorandum is designed to correct, and it is not proposed to issue a similar memorandum in England and Wales.
