§ Mr. SAKLATVALA
asked the Home Secretary how many local authorities have appointed women police and what is the total number of policewomen so appointed; how many large towns and cities have not yet done so; and will the Government bring to their special notice the recommendation of the 1920 and 1924 Departmental Committees set up by His Majesty's Government to carefully investigate this question?
§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS
Policewomen are employed in 39 police forces, the total number so employed being 137. There are 20 towns with over 100,000 population where no policewomen are employed. The Reports of both Committees have already been brought to the notice of all police authorities.
