HC Deb 04 February 1926 vol 191 cc356-7W
Mr. C. EDWARDS

asked the Home Secretary whether the paragraph on page 9 of Statistics of Compensation (Cmd. 2567), relating to the premiums, cost of management, commissions, profits, etc., of insurance companies, is applicable also to mutual indemnity associations: and, if not, will he give the corresponding information relative to these associations?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

The paragraph in question is limited to the companies which are required by the Assurance Companies Act to make returns to the Board of Trade, and is not applicable to the mutual associations of employers, which are exempted from this obligation. I regret that no' figures are available for these associations.
