HC Deb 04 February 1926 vol 191 c356W
Mr. C. EDWARDS

asked the Home Secretary whether my new developments have taken place in the Iris Watkins' case; and whether any communication has been received from the Chief Constable of Monmouthshire or, alternatively, whether Scotland Yard has made any overtures to him with a view to assisting in clearing up the mystery?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I am not aware of any new developments. I am informed by the commissioner of Police that no application for assistance has been received from the Chief Constable. In these cases assistance is not offered by Scotland Yard, and is only given upon request by the local police.
