§ Mr. TAYLOR
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the amount of pre-War loans raised by the Finnish Government or municipalities from British nationals for purposes of railway construction or other public utility services: and whether interest and sinking-fund payments on these loans have been and are being made by the Finnish Government?
§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN
So far as I can ascertain, the pre-War loans raised by the Finnish Government and municipalities from British nationals for railways and other public utility services amount to £4,440,000, of which approximately £4,000,000 is still outstanding. Interest and sinking fund on these loans is being paid by the Finnish Government.
