§ Mr. A. CHAMBERLAINThe Council of the League of Nations has been invited by resolution of the last Assembly to make a preparatory study with a view to a Conference for the Reduction and Limitation of Armaments, in order that, as soon as satisfactory conditions have been assured from the point of view of general security, the conference may be convened. In pursuance of this resolution, the Council have instructed a committee of the Council to make the necessary studies for determining the questions which need to be examined before a conference can be held, and to submit definite proposals.
