Everett, now detained in West Park mental hospital, requesting the Home Office to discharge her daughter into her care; is he aware that Dr. Connolly has stated that Miss Everett is not dangerous or suicidal; and whether, under all the circumstances, he will institute inquiries with a view to the request of the mother being granted?
§ Mr. N. CHAMBERLAINI have not received a communication in regard to this case, but I find that the patient in question is a criminal lunatic, and the power of discharge in this case is, therefore, vested in the Home Secretary, to whom I would refer the hon. Member.
