HC Deb 04 June 1924 vol 174 c1270W
Captain S. HERBERT

asked the First Commissioner of Works whether arrangements could be made for parties of school children visiting London and the British Empire Exhibition, under the auspices of the Board of Education, to be admitted free of charge to all parts of the Tower of London?

Mr. JOWETT

Arrangements already exist under which parties of elementary school children are admitted free to all parts of the Tower of London on Fridays. On other days school children are admitted at half price. On Saturday and Bank Holidays the greater part of the Tower is open free of charge both to adults and children. I regret that I do not see my way to making any further concessions. I may add that in order that schools throughout the country may be made aware of these regulations, the Board of Education are inserting a note on the subject in the next issue of their Bulletin.
