HC Deb 04 June 1924 vol 174 cc1288-9W

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department why there is no exhibit of agricultural implements of British make at the British Empire Exhibition?

I am informed by the British Empire Exhibition Authorities that a separate section, devoted to the display of agricultural implements, was originally contemplated, but, owing to the lack of support on the part of the trade the idea had to be abandoned. I understand, however, that a number of firms who manufacture agricultural implements in this country are exhibiting in the Palace of Engineering.
