§ Sir J. NALLasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether he is aware of the inadequate facilities for catering at the British Empire Exhibition, resulting in large numbers of visitors being unable to obtain meals, and high charges made for food by the caterers; and if he will take immediate action to improve matters?
§ Mr. LUNNI am informed by the British Empire Exhibition authorities that delays in the service of meals only occur at the busiest hours of the day. Such delays cannot be wholly avoided, but I understand that the provision of additional accommodation, with a view to meeting the requirements of the ever increasing number of visitors to the Exhibition, is under consideration. I am informed that the charges made by the caterers approximate to those in force in corresponding establishments in other parts of London, and that the tariffs at the various restaurants within the Exhibition have been framed with a view to meeting the requirements of all sections of the public.
