Major WHELER

asked the Postmaster-General whether with regard to the 13 mail bags which were lost in transit on the Southern Railway on 21st July between Sittingbourne and London, he will say whether these mail bags have been recovered; and what action he is taking in the matter?

Mr. HARTSHORN

The mail bags have been recovered. They were unfortunately put out of course on the railway. The circumstances are being investigated.
