asked the Postmaster-General whether he can see his way in the near future to offer the public better facilities for the delivery of telegrams which are urgent and necessary during the evening hours and at the week-ends?

Mr. HARTSHORN

Having regard to the small number of telegrams that would be benefited, I fear that the heavy expense of any general extension of the hours during which Post Offices are open for the delivery of telegrams would not be justified.
