§ Mr. GOSLINGThe section of this road between Rayleigh and Southend has been open to the public since 9th June, and portions of the Eastern Avenue, which forms part of the route referred to, have been used by traffic for some time. Surfacing works on the remainder of the road are being pushed forward as rapidly as possible, and I hope that the greater portion of the route from Wanstead to Southend will be open to traffic by the end of September.
