HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 cc1140-1W
Mr. PRINGLE

asked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the congestion of callers at the offices of the Lost Property Department, New Scotland Yard, on the Embankment, during the limited hours that the offices are open for business; and whether, in view of the complaints that have been made, extra staff will be provided to deal with callers?

Mr. DAVIES

There has recently been a very large increase in the number of articles lost and deposited at the Lost Property Office. The staff has been considerably increased, but the available accommodation is too limited to permit of any further increase of staff. Inquiries are, however, being made as to how increased facilities could best be provided.
