HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 c1132W
Viscount CURZON

asked the Minister of Labour whether any works have as yet been commenced on the Wash; and how many men are now employed there?

Mr. SMITH

I have been asked to reply. A tender has been accepted for this work, and the contractors expect to start operations at an early date. My right hon. Friend is not at present in a position to say how many men will be employed at the outset, but if the Noble Lord will put down another question in a fortnight, ho hopes to be able to furnish him with the information required.
