HC Deb 14 July 1924 vol 176 cc56-7W
Mr. GROVES

asked the Minister of Transport if he will cause special investigation to be held respecting the serious and dangerous increase of heavy traffic in the area of Stratford Broadway; whether he is aware of the fact that at this point there is generally a procession of six omnibuses, thus preventing a safe passage for the public across the road; and whether he will consider the imposition of a 10 miles per hour speed limit within the area of the points from the Municipal College, Romford Road, and Maryland Point station to Stratford Market station?

Mr. GOSLING

I am aware that there is very heavy traffic at the point referred to in my hon. Friend's question. Any application for the imposition of a 10-mile per hour speed limit would have to be made by the appropriate local authority, but I think this is a matter which might suitably be left to the con- sideration of the Advisory Committee proposed to be set up under the London Traffic Bill.
