HC Deb 27 February 1924 vol 170 cc512-3W
Mr. MURRELL

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has considered, in connection with unemployment, the revival of the scheme to construct a barrage across the River Severn for the purpose of harnessing the tides and providing cheap and widespread electric power, which scheme engineers have pronounced to be practicable, and which would provide employment for a great many people for a number of years?

Mr. GOSLING

I have been asked to answer this question. I would refer the hon. Member to the answer, of which I am sending him a copy, by the President of the Board of Trade given on the 19th February to a similar question asked by the hon. Member for Dartford (Mr. Mills).
