HC Deb 27 February 1924 vol 170 c513W
Mr. HANNON

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will reconsider his decision, as announced in the "Labour Gazette," that the statistics of approved building plans shall in future be published only quarterly?

Mr. SHAW

In view of the limited space available in the "Labour Gazette," and of the need for economy in expenditure on printing, it has been decided that the detailed figures relating to the building plans passed in each of various districts shall in future be given only at quarterly intervals. The totals for all districts for which information is obtained, sub-divided to show various categories of buildings separately, are still, however, being published each month. I should be prepared to reconsider the question as regards the district figures if I received evidence of sufficient demand to justify the expense of their monthly publication.
