§ Mr. HANNONasked the Minister of Health whether the Departmental Committee appointed by the late Government to consider the present law and practice in regard to the rating of machinery and plant in England and Scotland, respectively, has yet held any meetings; whether any procedure has been fixed for the submission of evidence to the Committee; and when a Report may be expected from the Committee?
§ Mr. WHEATLEYI am informed that the Committee has herd one meeting, and that invitations have been issued to a number of bodies representing local authorities and other interests concerned, to give evidence. I understand that the Committee hope to commence the hearing of witnesses at the beginning of next month. It is not at present possible to say when the Committee will be in a position to report.
