§ Mr. LEEasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been drawn to the statement made by the judges in the recent North-East Derby election petition that 69 voting papers, upon which the voters had clearly shown their intention had been rejected upon the ground that they did not bear the official stamp of the presiding officer at the polling booth; and whether, in view of this, he will see to it that some more satisfactory stamp is provided, preferably either a perforation or one with which ink is used?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI have seen the statement referred to. I have no information at present to show that the stamping instruments used at the election were defective, but I am making inquiry into the matter.
