§ Mr. GREAVES-LORDasked the Secretary for Mines what loss in wages to the miners was represented by the loss in December, 1922, of 7½ per cent. of the total number of manshifts, excluding manshifts lost through stoppage of the pits, which could have been worked during that month?
§ Lieut.-Colonel LANE-FOXI have no means of ascertaining the actual loss, but an estimate based on the average earnings per shift in December in each district for all classes of workpeople would give a figure of nearly £900,000.
