HC Deb 26 March 1923 vol 162 c55W
Mr. SHEPPERSON

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether, since the total amount received by the Exchequer from the present excise duties on cider manufactured from apples grown in this country and from chicory also grown in this country is comparatively small, he will, in view of the distressed state of agriculture, consider the reduction or remission of these excise duties?

Major BOYD-CARPENTER

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer is unable to anticipate the Budget Statement.
