§ Sir W. SUGDENasked the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to prevent the imported foreign eggs being sold as English new-laid; and if he is aware that the use of these foreign eggs is having serious effects upon the health of many industrial and city communities?
§ Viscount WOLMERI have been asked to reply. Under the Sale of Food Order, 1921, which is still in force, no imported eggs may be sold as "fresh" or "new-laid" unless the description also includes the word "imported" or words disclosing the country of origin. I understand that the Minister of Health has not received any information tending to show that the use of foreign eggs involves danger to health.
