§ Mr. HANCOCKasked the Prime Minister whether he has received from any 1079W public bodies requests that he should provide for the censorship of detailed Press reports of divorce cases; and, if so, whether he proposes to do anything in the matter?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANI have received numerous petitions on this subject, but, as I stated on the 21st February, while I share the view that there should be more restraint in newspaper reports of these cases, any legislation imposing restrictions on such reports involves great difficulty, and I regret that I cannot give any promise to introduce such legislation.
