HC Deb 02 March 1922 vol 151 c583W
Captain TERRELL

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether, in view of the importance of economy, he proposes to make the decisions of the Cabinet with regard to the recommendations of the Geddes Report a matter of confidence in every case; and whether, in order to elicit the real opinion of the House, he will consider the advisability of allowing a free vote on these questions?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I propose to follow the ordinary practice. It would be improper as well as impossible for the Government to disclaim responsibility for the Estimates that it presents to Parliament.
