§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSasked the Lord Privy Seal when it is proposed to take the Vote for the Middle East; whether he will undertake that the Palestine mandate shall not be finally submitted to the League of Nations until discussion has taken place in this House; and whether he will arrange for a second day for the discussion of all other Colonial questions?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI hope that it will be possible to take this Vote in the week after next. With regard to the second part of the question, the draft mandate for Palestine, as I think the House is aware, was submitted to the League of Nations many months ago. So far as the Government are concerned, there is no objection to discussion of its terms in this House. In view of the large amount of business to be got through by the end of the financial year, I am afraid it is not possible to give another day for the discussion of Colonial questions. My hon. Friend will, however, have an opportunity of raising these questions on the Appropriation Bill.
