§ Mr. R. GWYNNEasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how much of the debt owing to us by Russia and the Allies is in respect of coal?
Mr. YOUNGIt is not possible to separate the credits granted to Russia and the Allies as between coal and other commodities without an exhaustive inquiry in the books of the various Government Departments concerned. My hon. Friend will appreciate that such an inquiry would involve very considerable expenditure, which I do not feel justified in incurring at the present time.
