Mr. YOUNGAs shown in the weekly statement published in the "London Gazette," the Exchequer receipts from 1st April to 28th May were £143,564,421, and the Exchequer issues £159,226,631. As my hon. Friend is no doubt aware, neither revenue nor expenditure are equally distributed throughout the year, and no reliable inferences can be drawn from figures covering the short period in question.
