Mr. ALFRED T. DAVIESasked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to the urgent need for codifying and simplifying the numerous regulations for motor traffic; whether any representations on the subject have been made by the police authorities; and whether he will consider the practicability of issuing such a codification of the regulations at an early date?
§ Mr. NEALI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given on 24th February to the hon. Member for Walls-end (Mr. Simm) relating to the matters at present under consideration by the Departmental Committee on the Regulation of Road Vehicles. I am sending a copy of this answer to my hon. Friend. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport is awaiting a further report from the Committee before taking any steps to promote legislation.
