§ Sir G. COLLINSasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the arrears of Excess Profits Duty on 1st April, 1919 and 1920, respectively, and the estimated amount of the duty levied during the present year, whether received by the Inland Revenue Department in the present or future years?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINAt the dates in question the estimated amount of arrears of Excess Profits Duty (including Munitions Levy) after adjustment for sums then shown due to be remitted were as follow:—
1st April, 1919 £164,000,000 1st April, 1920 £217,000,000 The amount of Excess Profits Duty and Munitions Levy assessed from the 1st April, 1920, to the 13th November, 1920, inclusive, less the like adjustments during that period, is approximately £193,000,000.
