HC Deb 29 November 1920 vol 135 c959W
Mr. R. RICHARDSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the 2s. per day recently granted to miners has not yet been paid at several collieries in the County of Durham, and thereby causing a great deal of unrest; and whether he will order the amount due from the resumption of work to be at once paid to the workmen?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

Directions were issued on 9th November to all collieries to pay the advance from 4th November. I have received no complaints that payment has not been made in Durham. If the hon. Member will give me particulars of the information on which his question is based, I shall be, glad to have inquiries made.
