asked the President of the Board of Trade from which countries we imported butter in 1913, and how many pounds were imported from each?

During 1913 the total quantity of butter registerd as imported into the United Kingdom was 463,500,000 lbs., consigned from the following countries (the figures are given to the nearest million lbs. avoirdupois): Denmark, 191,000,000; Russia (which meant, largely, Siberia, as I have just explained in my answer to the hon. Member for West Derbyshire), 84,000,000; Australia, 67,000,000; Sweden, 37,000,000; New Zealand, 28,000,000; France, 28,000,000; Netherlands, 17,000,000; Argentine, 8,000,000; Norway, 2,000,000; and all other countries together, less than 1,000,000.
