asked the First Commissioner of Works the number of men and of women employed during whole or part time in the Houses of 692W Parliament in August, 1914, and at the present time, respectively; and how many of those now employed are ex-service men and ex-service women, respectively?

There were 265 men and one woman employed by my Department in the Houses of Parliament in August, 1914, as compared with 243 men and one woman at the present time. Of those now employed there are 88 ex-service men, and the majority of the remainder have been in our employ for a number of years.
