asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty (1) what actual sum has become due to date to the Exchequer from the Minesweepers' Co-operative Trawling Society on account of the cost of printing and circulating the prospectus and other matters relating to the society; has any of this amount been recovered; how and when will it be paid off; and who is responsible for collecting the amount;

(2)how many steam trawlers of each of the three classes available have to date been disposed of to the Minesweepers' Trawling Society; what sum is due to the Exchequer on this account; what instalments have been fixed for repayment; what rate of interest is fixed; and what security has the Government for the repayment of instalments and interest?

I shall be glad if the hon. Member will postpone these questions to a future date. The present position of the Society is as stated in my reply to the hon. and gallant Member for Hull on the 15th. A further pronouncement will be made when the matters referred to therein have been duly considered.
