HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 cc907-8W
Commander LOCKER-LAMPSON

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture whether, under Section 18 of The Lands Settlement (Facilities) Act, 1919, allotment holders can have advances made to them by county councils or whether the section only applies to smallholders; and whether he received by the Hunts County Council from five tenants for advances to which he referred in his answer of 22nd March?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

Section 18 of the Lands Settlement (Facilities) Act does not apply to allotment holders. The five applications for advances to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers were dated the 5th, 7th, 9th and 25th February, and the 15th March respectively. Two further applications, each for £100, and dated the 18th and 19th March respectively, have been received by the Huntingdon County Council.
