HC Deb 29 March 1920 vol 127 c908W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture whether he is aware of a keen demand for allotments at Wilford, Nottingham; and whether, seeing it is urgent that land should be provided now if it is to be cultivated this season, he will make representations to the parish council and the county council with a view to the early provision of allotments?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

The Ministry drew the attention of the Wilford Parish Council in January last to the unsatisfied demand for allotments in the parish. Subsequently they advised the parish council to lease two acres of glebe land which had been offered to the Council, and urged them, if this area proves insufficient to meet the demand, to acquire additional land, or if this is impossible, to apply to the county council to acquire land either by agreement or compulsion for the purpose of leasing it to the parish council to be let as allotments.
