McNEILLsaked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that dissatisfaction prevails in the village of Lyminge, Kent, and the neighbourhood, on account of the delay in carrying out the work of installing telephone facilities in that parish; and whether, in view of the inconvenience caused to the public by this delay, he will take steps to have the work immediately carried out?
§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHI regret that pressure of work has delayed the completion of the necessary estimates of cost. It is clear that the expenses will be heavy, and it will, I fear, be necessary to ask prospective subscribers to pay rentals considerably higher than the tariff charge. The matter is being dealt with as rapidly as possible.
