§ Colonel WEDGWOODasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the sentence of six months' imprisonment passed upon Mr. Arthur Barker at the recent Stafford Assizes; and whether, in view of the good services rendered to the community in the past by this unofficial doctor, he can see his way to have the sentence reviewed?
§ Mr. SHORTTI have received representations on this man's behalf, but they show no sufficient ground for recommending any reduction of the sentence of four months' imprisonment. However, I have asked for a copy of the shorthand notes of the trial, and will consider them.
