HC Deb 07 July 1920 vol 131 cc1476-7W
Lieut.-Colonel ROYDS

asked the Minister of Health what steps the Government propose to take to carry into effect the recommendations as to assistance to self-contained garden cities set out in paragraphs 10 and 16 (1) of the Report of the Committee appointed to consider and advise on the principles to be followed in dealing with unhealthy areas?

Dr. ADDISON

The financial assistance offered by the State to public utility societies, in pursuance of Section 19 of the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act, 1919, is available in cases of this kind, in so far as the provision of working-class dwellings may be undertaken. The question whether further steps should be taken is under consideration.
